Request for exemption negative travel code (orange/red)

In case of negative travel advice for your Exchange or fieldwork destination, this generally means that you cannot depart. However, if you are of the opinion that your destination is safe, despite the negative travel advice, it is possible to request an exemption. A request for exemption is assessed by the assessment committee on the basis of the information you provide in this form about your travel and destination. The committee also consults the generally available information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the country of destination and your host university or institution.

Information about your situation

For the purpose of assessment by the committee of your request for exemption, please answer the questions below. The information you provide will be considered by the committee. For each answer you may submit a maximum number of 1000 characters.

1. Does your host university still allow your arrival? What is your host university's current welcoming policy?

Important: Please base your answer on information that your host university has previously provided. Utrecht University will contact the host university for an update of this information. You yourself do not have to request this again.
Will you not travel to a host university? Then describe the policy of the institution or the region/area you will be staying at. The degree programme will provide the committee with more information on the institution you will be visiting.

2. Elaborate why it is safe to travel and stay in your country of destination? How are your health and safety ensured during your stay?

3. Which measures are you yourself taking in regard of your safety in your country of destination?
